Happy 2019!!! Hi and I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas and holiday season. I have missed you!!! I was so frazzled over the holidays that I kept thinking that I would love to be able to sit down at my computer and write a blog. Imagine that!! My life has been a blur since November with Thanksgiving falling somewhere in there. I have been in the process of moving my 91 year old mom to Dallas and trying to get her house cleaned out to sell. The professional estate sale preparation starts soon and I have a great group called Retro Betties Estate Sales and believe me it is a lot of work. They deserve every penny they make. I have even been cleaning out my own house and taking things over to sell for my mom. My Christmas was 2 weeks late and thank goodness it was small this year. I had planned to try to wrap up everything for the estate sale this week and SURPRISE my new grandson Jennings arrived sooner than expected!! I have to give a shout out to Southwest Airlines and Lindsey and her supervisor for changing my ticket for me. (that was an all day ordeal and I even bought 2 new tires thinking I would drive in this freezing rain!!). So I am leaving tonight for Memphis and will get to see this new little guy wearing my warmest winter essentials.
TIME TO SHOP WINTER ESSENTIALS ON SALE
I have to say that Ugg boots are not very flattering (and hardly ever go on sale) but I sure do love mine and never think about that when I wear them!!! This is my very favorite and heaviest coat that my friend Roxie gave me – shearling with a fur trimmed hood. I think I will wear it a lot this winter, last year not so much. There are great looking faux versions too. I realized when Bill and I went to Colorado last February that I did not have a hat. I found this cute one at Neiman’s Last Call and of course only Kate Spade would make it so cute with Ooh La La. I decide you have to have a pompom on top because the other one I bought made me look like a bank robber. Scarves are essential for keeping warm and you can’t have too many – plus a plaid scarf pulls your outfit together in a cozy sort of way. Red gloves for a pop of color and you’re set. These gloves are pretty interesting – the middle finger is a different neon color!!! Sends a message I guess?? Please excuse the Christmas decorations – late as usual. But I kind of like keeping the Christmas spirit all year long. How about you???
SHOP COATS AND BOOTS
SHOP HATS AND GLOVES
I cannot thank you enough for reading and I have been so out of touch that I hope you will keep following my fashion chronicles this spring. Lots to talk about and by the way, is your closet organized? Winter is a good time to purge!! I am off to Memphis and can’t wait to meet the newest addition to our clan. I love getting to spend time with Hunter (and Tim and Tara too) and now I’m hoping he will like his new little brother!! Stay warm and take advantage of the amazing sales going on. This is just a drop in the bucket of what is available everywhere. XO Debby
