We had a really fun weekend watching Sloan. Bill and I realized that we are not up to speed on our baby skills and it took both of us even though she sleeps a lot!! Haha. So I did not post on Monday because I was still on Dee Dee duty. Hope you are enjoying this cool weather and I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I decided to tackle What to Wear to Thanksgiving Dinner because all of our kids are coming home this year (they switch off) so it will be a big deal. I’ve learned to be flexible with this large family because the married ones have to have a holiday with the in-laws!! Duh!! I’m trying to decide how to incorporate a little bit of Christmas into this homecoming. We now have 4 living out of Dallas.
If you are in Dallas have you bought your Partners Card yet? This is a great time of year to donate to The Family Place and get 20% off your purchases at retailers all over the metroplex and specialty stores like Stanley Korshak. I always save my birthday money to buy something I really want and shop for Christmas gifts. Speaking of shopping, I love buying separates because you can get a lot of mileage out of each piece. This olive green statement top from Koch (notice the detailing a trademark of Dallas designer Nicole Musselman) is a great example!! Sorry it is sold out but I have linked some fall tops I think you will like. These fab earrings from B. Stellar Jewelry are one of a kind and not that pricey. In my opinion it pays to shop specialty stores if you like unique finds.
Now you may be asking if I really get this dressed up to serve Thanksgiving dinner at home. Well maybe not but I would for sure wear this outfit to a holiday event!! Actually I would wear these jeans with a different top and save these Malone Soliers heels for a holiday party. Speaking of jeans I have found some really great looking jeans for dressing up for any holiday event. The jeans I am wearing are Rag & Bone and very versatile with the gold detail.
DRESSED UP JEANS
Loeffler Randall is one of my favorite designers for shoes and bold handbags like this one with feathers. As I was searching for some bold bags to share with you I thought of Anthropologie. They usually have some very interesting bags that you don’t see elsewhere. I have tried to stick with fall colors throughout the post to give you some ideas for great outfits for what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner and other holiday events.
This was a fun post to write because I wanted to remind you to buy your Partners Card and support the local retailers that participate. Also Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it is more relaxed and you can just enjoy friends and family. This year since all of our kids will be home we are having a Sip and See on Saturday so that everyone can meet Sloan. She is kind of a small celebrity since so many people prayed for her cleft lip surgery. She is the sweetest baby and we are excited for her to get to know her cousin Hunter. I’m off to Memphis Friday to see that little cutie. I hope you have a great weekend!! Happy shopping. XO Debby
