Wearing Black for Summer

I have been having a little bit of technical difficulty lately in sending my blog. It will publish but does not send to my subscribers. So I hope you are receiving this for the very first time, just a week late. This technical stuff is way beyond my pay grade and I just cannot keep up. Since today is actually a very special day I wan to send a out a very HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!! Thank you for reading and for you patience with me as a blogger!!! XO Debby

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!!! The weather was beyond gorgeous here in Dallas and I felt guilty being inside any of the time. This is the weather I wish I could bottle and save forever. I went to a birthday celebration outside on Saturday evening and it was so much fun to enjoy a party outdoors in Texas. Won’t last long!!! Speaking of parties.. I have pulled together a little dressy number from my last shopping spree to NM Last Call. I am not exactly trying to push off-the-shoulder tops on you but they are really on trend and easy to wear for summer. This top is by Max Studio and even though it is black, it is very light weight and I think looks dressy for summer. I love the off-the-shoulder look and blousy style of this blouse. It is so comfortable and fun for going out for date night or girls night out. It would be pretty with a dressy white or cream pant or you could even go a little more casual with a white jean and some fun accessories. You could also eat a lot and not worry about your stomach sticking out!!! A real plus!!

Now you may have noticed that I am wearing “leather” pants for summer. Well, these are of course the politically correct version of faux leather and they are so light weight and stretchy. I am in love with this cropped flare from BCBG and plan to wear them year round. You may have seen them in some of my other posts with a fur vest and booties for fall styling. When I was deciding what to wear with this georgette top it just seemed kind of dressy but I didn’t want a full on pant. I got these pants at  Tootsie’s a while back and have loved wearing them. This is the first time I put together an outfit for spring using this cropped flare. I actually did find them on several websites and they were sold out. However I located a link you will see below and they are marked down from $158 to $28.99 if they are still available. They are pull on, elastic waist and like wearing a legging!! I am so happy I bought them, however they were not on sale at Tootsie’s!!!

I think you may remember from a recent post on Cocktail Dressing I had to tell you how much I love wearing black. I learned this trick while modeling for Neiman Marcus many years ago. Any way I am just here to tell you that it is ok to wear black for summer!! I have added some fun accessories and a black sandal to lighten the look up. I was running around like crazy pulling some things for this shoot and ended up at Dear Hannah, in Snider Plaza. That’s where I found these fabulous and very reasonable tassel earrings. ($32.00) They are almost sold out but I did buy a similar black pair in the store last week. I love these in cream for a fun and kind of dressy look. Of course you could wear them with jeans. What doesn’t work with jeans these days?? I spotted this beaded zebra clutch on the way out the door. I have had so many comments and compliments on this color combo. And it is sold out and I cannot find it on the internet!! So sorry.  The girlfriend bracelet was a gift from Chico’s and I have enjoyed wearing it alone and stacked with other accessories. I am loving tones of yellow for spring and can’t wait to show you this really cool leather skirt I bought at the Salvation Army Chic Boutique last week – yes, it’s yellow!!!
