I am excited to be partnering with an incredible brand, JD Williams, from Great Britain that is now available in the US. Known for figure flattering fashion; JD Williams and sister company Simply Be understand that your shape is unique and are experts in size and fit, offering sizes from 6-28. “Fashion that fits and flatters at amazing prices.” I have to say that these are words that every woman loves to hear. Celebrating women of all shapes and sizes is finally “in Vogue” these days and the fashion community is recognizing that everyone is not a size 2 but women everywhere want to look and feel comfortable and confident in their clothes. I write this Fashionomics blog but I am also a wardrobe consultant and my goal in working with my clients is to make sure they feel beautiful from the inside out. “Fashion is meant to be fun!” and girls love clothes. I am impressed by the mission statement of JD Williams in recognizing that women come in all shapes and sizes and that cost is an important issue. I always recommend shopping with a purpose and a budget. JD Williams is offering a fantastic discount code to Fashionomics readers. Use Code: DEBBY40 for 40% off until Dec 4. (excludes sale)
I don’t know about you, but this seems to be wedding season for us. We have been on a roll and I don’t like to have to scramble to find the perfect dress. I love this deep green with gold for the holiday season and am planning to wear it to a wedding in December. This season is all about sparkle and shine and this covers all of these trends. Gold is the standard and the bejeweled belt just says it all. A skirt with pockets is everyone’s dream and this is so figure flattering. Joanna Hope knows how to design for today’s woman.
Now lets talk about this fabulous leather jacket from Joanna Hope. If you don’t have an embroidered leather moto jacket for this season then you need this one!! Love the incredible attention to detail and the quality of the leather and workmanship. I was just reading my 150th anniversary edition of Harper’s Bazaar and noticed lots of green. So here you have a very fun combination of a traditional cocktail dress with a leather jacket. Fashion is all about mixing mediums and styles these days. Look at Karl Lagerfeld teaching us to mix those traditional Chanel jackets with jeans. Go for it girls, I am!!!
If you have read anything about the trends this season then you know that dark florals have been all over the runways. I honestly tend to wear too much black and this is a refreshing change for me. Adding in the floral prints lets me stay with my fave black and also have some color for fall. The other major color trend is red. And that means all shades of red. This Joanna Hope dress covers all the bases in one smart looking garment. I chose to belt it, another trendy move on my part!! haha – just couldn’t resist. Love the fabric, so soft and easy to wear. I may just live in this dress. The sizing is a bit generous, just FYI.
Be bold when layering and mixing your prints. I always suggest that there needs to be a common denominator when combining prints and textures. This leather embroidered jacket compliments the floral pattern in the dress, but doesn’t fight with it. I just decided to throw it on, mix it up a bit, and loved the look. This jacket!!!! So fab!!!
You can tell I really like this dark floral dress!! My photographer, Mary Summers and my stylist Jenn Hill were up for a bit of fun. Joanna Hope actually calls this a longline blouse, so we decided to wear it over jeans and a tank with boots. The hat was Jenn’s idea. It is such a blast working with these two. I think you would agree that this dress is pretty versatile. Prints are tricky and this one just nailed it, perfection.
Now, I am going to admit that I am absolutely obsessed with leopard. I think it has become a neutral and I like it in my home decor and in my wardrobe. It can be a shoe, a jacket, a scarf, blouse or dress. Leopard is just the best. I am picky about the pattern and color combo and this textured biker jacket is perfect. Talk about going with everything from black to the neglected brown to adding a pop of color. I confess that I was supposed to shoot this with the dark floral dress for a daring combo but I missed that memo. I would have loved that. Winter florals and loud prints – so fun.
I think you will agree that open or closed this jacket is a must have. I don’t usually mention the price because I provide links below for that, but this is worth a shout out – $129.99. It is faux and the fit on both jackets is “spot on” as Mel B would say. JD Williams is graciously offering a very generous discount code for my Fashionomics readers. Thank you JD Williams!!!!!
DISCOUNT CODE is DEBBY40 and allows for 40% off until December 4, 2017. (excludes sale)
As always, thank you so much for reading!! I hope you have enjoyed the introduction to a new (to me) online retailer from “across the pond”. JD Williams is excited to be expanding their fashion brands to the USA. I have included links below to the items that I wore and some similar pieces to my jeans, sandals, tank and hat. Their prices are very enticing. Many thanks to my incredible creative team. Sorry that Mary was behind the camera and couldn’t be in the photo with Jenn and me.
