Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a great weekend and are enjoying your summer so far. I have been complaining about the heat non-stop so it’s kind of funny to be writing about jackets in the summer. BUT every woman knows that it is freezing cold when you go into a restaurant, movie theatre or office building. You always need a jacket or sweater or cute wrap on hand to wear even when the outside temps are sizzling!! I have collected a few really cute jackets for summer and hope you will like them. Of course, I am trying to stick to sale this time of year. I will say that if an item is not on sale, just watch it and there will be a sale soon!!!!
When I think of a bouclé jacket I immediately think of Chanel. This style has been a staple in their collections for years. When Karl Lagerfeld took over he started breaking rules and putting this dressy jacket with jeans. Oh my!!!! So here you have an example of how fashion trends evolve. I am sure some socialites around the world were appalled. But isn’t it really a great option. I loved this yellow jacket from Ann Taylor and decided to wear it with jeans and a really cute lace T shirt. They actually call it the Striped Fringe Jacket. The benefit to wearing a textured jacket like bouclé is that it is woven and nubby and usually has several colors involved so it is easy to mix in your wardrobe. This jacket is great with these jeans, or white jeans or it could be easily worn over a dress. I love the 3/4 sleeve so it gives it an easy look for summer. This Tee is one of my favorite pieces that I have seen. I also showed it in a blog on seersucker recently and it just goes with everything. Love this seersucker jacket from Ann Taylor for summer as another example of a cool third piece. The sandals I am wearing are from Cole Haan a while back but they are so much fun. I googled yellow sandals and was surprised to come up with some really cute ones. Yellow is a great neutral and can go with so many separates. Love this floral version and it would be so stinkin’ cute with my outfit.
The best part of today was that baby Sloan came to visit. I can’t believe she is already a month old. She is starting to smile – or we think she is. So much more fun when she helps me write my blog!! I also planned a last minute getaway to Mexico today!! A much needed restful retreat. Can’t wait. Hope you have an awesome weekend!! As always thank you so much for taking some of your valuable time to read my blog. XO Debby
