Happy Monday!! Hope you had a great weekend. We were in Austin for a wedding and it was so much fun. Bill and I had forgotten how much we loved Austin and the Hill Country. We stayed at the AT&T hotel on campus and enjoyed walking around with Roxanne and remembering the time she was in school at UT. Do you feel like time just whizzes by these days? Now she has finished college, law school and been married for 4 years!! Yikes. Every detail of the wedding weekend was just perfect from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding and reception. Of course the bride and groom were precious and young people like these two and their friends give us great hope for the future!! We love out of town weddings because it is such a great chance to catch up with friends without being in a rush. Now on to fashion and jumpsuits. I have been looking online and there are so many jumpsuits. I always think of Trina Turk for this style but this seems to be a trend because I had no trouble finding a good selection. However some of them are just not my style and of course I found the jumpsuit I am wearing at that great designer resale shop in Westport. However, I did find it online at Farfetch.com. I tried to show you several styles and colors that you might like. Also don’t forget to sign up for the $1,000 Nordstrom Give Away at the bottom of my post. Winning would make Christmas shopping stress free!!!
In my last post “A Unique Vacation Find” I mentioned that I think it is much more fun to shop on vacation. I found a very cool jacket in Alys Beach on that trip. Before I went to NY Fashion Week this fall I spent Labor Day in Westport with my friend Roxie. She loves to shop and really loves to talk me into buying things she thinks I should have. She is a decorator and has really great taste. I don’t have a sister and I am alway working when I am home and never shop with anyone (except my daughters and that’s not for me). I don’t usually shop resale although I am a huge fan of Clothes Circuit in Dallas. I realize after searching for this particular jumpsuit online that I got a steal. So now I like it even more. I really wanted a tonal look with a cream shoe but the one that I found at Lord & Taylor had really cool pearl detailing that got caught in the hem. Oh well… I decided to wear leopard because I wanted to accent the brown button detailing. I also am a huge fan of tortoise jewelry and added some of my pieces that I really like.
SHOP ACCESSORIES & SHOES
I have to admit that this Helmut Lang jumpsuit has a lot of detailing and is very interesting. I did alter the belt because I didn’t like that it was elastic. I felt like the jumpsuit was falling down. I guess this could be styled with a more casual shoe but I like a little heel. I am looking forward to wearing it during the holiday season and love a winter white outfit like the ones I highlighted in another recent blog. I do think that designer fashions are worth the price on many occasions because there is so much attention to detail. If you are on a budget like I am you may want to look for sales or shop one of our local designer resale shops like Luxury Garage Sale, To Be Continued, or online at The Real Real. Double Exposure seems to be a well kept secret.
I am getting excited about Christmas and praying I can get all of my decorations up so that I can enjoy the season. I have some very special friends coming in from Atlanta this week and I hate to subject them to the chaos. Once I get started there is no turning back and Bill just has to walk around all of the boxes for a week or so. I love Christmas for so many reasons. Thankfully our Christmas card is done and ready to mail if I can get the list checked over one more time. Take time to relax and enjoy your friends and family as we celebrate our Savior’s birth. The real reason for the season. Be sure to enter the Nordstrom raffle. We had a very happy winner last time and are hoping it will be YOU this time around. Thank you so much for reading and I love your comments, requests and suggestions. XO Debby
