Snakeskin – A New Neutral for Spring 2019
Happy New Year!!! It has been quite a start to 2019 for me. My son and his wife had a baby unexpectedly last Wednesday (Jan 2) and I had to scramble to change my ticket to get there. I was scheduled to fly to Memphis today (Jan 9) for Jennings birth on Jan 10. Tim was in the worst pain I have ever seen and had back surgery today (Jan 9). What a week it has been. I feel badly that I flew home on Sunday and missed the surgery which was scheduled Tuesday. But God always has the best plan and they are exhausted but on the mend. Jennings is beautiful and healthy and big brother Hunter is just precious. I loved my time with them and can’t wait to go back. Hard for me to miss this surgery – there have been so many in the past. But Tim has an amazing wife!!! Thank you Lord for answered prayer. Now I am trying to catch up so lets talk about Snakeskin for Spring 2019.
SHOP SNAKESKIN APPAREL
SHOP SNAKESKIN SHOES AND BOOTS
Animal prints seem to be here to stay. Leopard is always a favorite in shoes, belts and bags. Now I am seeing a lot of snakeskin like this fab jacket I snagged at Zara. I was wearing it one night and my husband looked at me and said “Did I buy that?”. I guess it was kind of a statement piece because he does not comment on what I wear very often. Or maybe it was because my AmEx bill was a bit high and I was in trouble.
SHOP SNAKESKIN BAGS AND JEWELRY
Accessories are always a great way to add an accent piece like snakeskin. A pattern can really tie your outfit together. I think finding some unique pieces can take your classics to a new level. Shoes and boots are always a fun way to add pizazz if you are a little too shy to wear a full on snakeskin jacket or pant.
I hope you are having a wonderful week and looking forward to the weekend. I am driving to Houston on Saturday for a wedding and then driving my daughter back to Austin on Sunday and then I will be on the road to Dallas. I wonder when in the world I will ever put away my Christmas decorations??? My mom’s house is still not exactly ready for the estate sale and I have not had time to go back over there. Thankfully I have a great team working on it – The Retro Betties. What a fun surprise to scramble to head to Memphis last week to meet my new little grandson Jennings Willard Jett. Tim had back surgery yesterday (that’s another story) so I am really sad that I am not still there to help them!! I have the most amazing daughter in law. She is a rock and I just hope she will take care of herself. Her sweet mom is taking great care of all of them. I sure miss my little Hunter. Well so much for grandma ramblings. Thanks for reading and I admit that this blog is a bit thrown together. New Years resolutions still in progress!! XO Debby (PS This was a really bad hair day!!! Humidity!!!!)

I love the snakeskin jacket so much. Can you give some suggestions about other colors to wear with it? I have tried all winter white and love that as much as the blac pa to and white blouse.
Your family has been through the wringer the past weeks. Joys AND concerns! I hope all are doing well and I pray for your safe travel this weekend.

Hi Terry and Happy New Year to you and Phil!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I know your grandkids make it more fun. I do love this jacket and have worn it as you see in the photo with brown Vince leggings and Cream Joie blouse. I liked it with a black turtle neck and skinny black jeans and booties. I think all winter white is great. You can always wear jeans and a black or cream or dark brown turtle neck. My fried Cathy suggested lavender with it and that might be pretty on you. It’s not my color. I think the jacket makes such a statement that simple is better. I’ll let you know if I find some other great options. I will try harder!! Thanks for reading and commenting. You make me feel like this is worthwhile!! XO Debby
