Hi and hope you have been having a great week. I am so very thankful to be past my week of feeling like crap. That virus or upper respiratory whatever it was literally had me on the down and out!! Yay!!! I feel so much better this week and am happy to be catching up and back to my work out routine!! Of course I am a bit behind on work because I had so many errands to run this week. My sweet husband is going on a road trip to Colorado and will be out of town for Father’s Day. Little does he know that most women would like to do that on Mother’s Day. But who would plan everything?? Haha. Just kidding – kind of!! We had an impromptu Father’s Day with the IT kids. (in town – my new made up term since we have two IT and 3 OOT plus spouses) I always have great plans to catch up on literally everything when Bill leaves town. We will see and I’ll let you know how focused I end up being!! (Anyone else feel that way when the hubs goes out of town??) Now on to today’s fashion update – Seersucker. I saw this blazer at Ann Taylor and was reminded of how much I love seersucker in the summer. It is cool and usually a bit preppy but in Texas looking pulled together while staying cool is very important. Now Ann Taylor usually has great sales but not on everything at the moment – but hang on (40% off tops and accessories). I am going to show you lots of cute seersucker fashions from stores like Banana Republic (40% off regular price, 30% off sale), Nordstrom, J.Crew (30% off full price code SHOPTOIT), Neiman Marcus (sale’s on sale and up to 55% off regular price), and Shopbop( code SCORE18) and almost everything else is soon to be on summer sale!! 2 of my kids went to Ole Miss so you can be sure that I sent my son off well supplied with seersucker blazer, slacks etc. Southerners are smart because they know that nothing is cooler in the summer than light weight seersucker. And the other benefit is that it doesn’t wrinkle, or if it does you really can’t tell like you can with linen or cotton. And seersucker is not just for the gents, there are so many cute styles for girls as well. I am hoping to show you a variety of up to date fashions I found everywhere once I decided to search for seersucker for women. Of course J.Crew always does it best but designers have taken a liking to the idea for example these dresses from Paulmer//Harding here and here and Jonathan Simkhai. I am trying to show you some more reasonably priced styles but thought you might want to take a look at some these designer dresses too. I imagine anywhere you live it will be hot this summer and you will feel the need to look cool, calm and collected in spite of the temperatures. Seersucker seems to come in tones of blue, gray or pink. You could add a pop of color in you shoe, bag or earring! Of course white or denim pieces are always a great choice with seersucker.

I have had a fun morning babysitting baby Sloan and finishing up this blog post when she was napping. It is such a blessing to have one of my gandbabies in Dallas. I can’t believe that Hunter will be one next month. Time sure goes by too quickly and I like this phase of life because I can actually enjoy these babies without the stress of raising them. Been there, done that!! Anyone else feel that way?? Hope you have some super duper fun plans this summer and find some seersucker outfits that will keep you looking great while staying cool in this heat that has come way too soon this year!! Thanks so much for reading. You all are just the best!! I wish I could meet each and every one of you in person and give you a hug!! Happy Summer!! XO Debby
PS: Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads, Bonus Dads, Grandfathers and the men in your life who have been there for you and filled in the gaps a dad wasn’t around. I did not get around to my Father’s Day post this year but still want to mention these wonderful men who make our lives better. It is such a privilege to watch my son and son-in-law become such tender, kind and caring father’s.
