Happy Friday and if you are a Nordstrom Card Holder this is your day to start shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale right now. It’s 11:30 and I am just now getting this blog written. I am new to this sale and just got a Nordstrom credit card so I could participate. (If you want one you can apply here) It has been an interesting, stressful and fun process to explore the store and sale items last Sunday with my new fave stylist Rachel Hepp. I am so excited to find a great salesperson that I can use when shopping with my clients. I have some great outfits to share with you today and I’m sure you will find some other great fashions that you love. I tried to think of the fall trends, what I need in my closet and what I thought you might like. I hate taking selfies but that was my only option. The lighting is pretty green even though I tried to edit. I will be shooting with my photographer next week (can’t wait to shoot fall clothes in this heat!!!) The public sale begins July 19.
DRESSING ROOM DIARIES
I have to learn all of the blogger tricks from my friends. They are all so experienced and great at posting on time. I feel like I’m back in college and my term paper is a day late!! From what I understand things sell out fast but don’t despair it seems that Nordstrom always restocks the popular items. Hang in there and have fun shopping.
I fell in love with this classic look when I saw it in the fashion show. I am a huge fan of jumpsuits and the teal (also comes in black) combined with this lovely Vince Camuto blue coat is stunning in a very subtle way. This lightweight long coat would be great through Easter. All shades of blue are on trend this fall and I love this tonal look topped off with the blue Tory Burch mini cross body bag. It’s a great size and can double as a clutch – removable strap. I also like this blue tote and this blue saddle bag. (these bags come in 4 colors) I am wearing my own clear shoes and am obsessed with the long look it gives you.
This 1.State plaid boyfriend long blazer ($112.90) is going to be a staple in my closet this fall. I love a pattern in a jacket that allows you to wear it so many ways.I am also a huge fan of brown and it’s hard to find for some reason. Stay tuned for my blog post when I show you how to wardrobe this blazer. Plaid is another huge trend this fall so get ready to add some plaid!! This blazer is light weight and so well made ($112.19) and I am wearing a small because I like it fitted. (other color) We decided to pair it with this Chelsea28 Black Belted sheath dress.($89.90) for a totally different look. I am wearing a 6 and it is snug but very flattering. (might need Spanx). Love mixing prints with the very trendy snakeskin Claire V bag with the cool strap. (but I can’t find it to link and will let you know if it appears!!) This bag ($65.90) is cute too. Snakeskin is THE animal print to have this season. Similar bootie $99.90.
I just mentioned that snakeskin is huge this fall and I think every blogger chose this BlankNYC snakeskin moto jacket because it is just so cool . I’m wearing a small ($64.90) and paired it with my new fave (got it in 2 colors) lightweight turtleneck (size small). It is so soft and $31.90. My very favorite jeans (besides Citizen) are Frame and I need this high waisted flare. I size down in Frame to 26 (which makes me feel better). Flares with a heel make your legs look lean and long. I want this Louise et Cie white croc bootie ($99.90). I am wearing a Louis et Cie pump that I have had since NY Fashion Week.
One void in my closet last year was a longer sweater to wear over leggings and skinny jeans. Well, obviously I bought this Free People cozy comfy sweater in oatmeal and black (size small $98.90 comes in 5 colors). It is not scratchy at all!! Skinny jeans like this pair from Paige (size 27 $109.90) are a must and love the two tone (leopard and tiger) animal booties (size 9.5 $109.90). Just enough heel to give you a lift. Sorry I didn’t take a better photo. This will be my 5th leopard belt to add to my collection. (size small $$28.90) Belts are tough since some jeans are low or high waisted and you need belts of different widths. I just collect great belts and keep them around. I accidentally stumbled upon this great taupe or putty color Sole/Society tote ($32.90). You won’t believe how well made it is and has a zipper pouch inside. I think this color is sooooo neutral (also comes in burgundy)
I think this Halogen blazer is one of my fave pieces (or have I said that about everything) because it is plaid, light weight and $98.90 (I am wearing size small). This Veronica Beard blazer is $434.90. So you be the judge. Love these Rag & Bone black skinny pants with snaps on the side at the bottom(size 4 $216.90) and Frame white notch collar sleeveless blouse (size small $176.90) – clean and simple. As I said before, a blazer with texture and multi-color print will go with almost everything in your closet. Just to prove that “check mix” is a trend we chose these really great looking Halogen plaid loafers (size 9.5 $59.90 comes in 4 colors).
I am stepping out in this very chic red snakeskin pencil skirt from Tibi ($279.90). I tried the size 6 but ended up with the 4 so I would say you can size down in this one. It is one of my other fave finds. It’s a statement all by itself don’t you think?? I found another great long sleeve tee in black (size small $24.90) and it is so soft I could sleep in it. Just for fun I added the snakeskin bag that I can’t link but you get the idea!! Once again I relied on these clear sandals for a very simple long and lean look. They also come with a black heel and sole which would look great with this red and black.
Now last but not least my shout out to leopard. This animal print has become a neutral and is here to stay I am quite sure. This BP longer leopard cardigan (size small $45.90) is so soft and it could be worn with a dress or black pants or almost anything; such a great piece to add to your wardrobe. Just to be different I thought it would be pretty with this Vince tee shirt in spice (size small ($49.90). I think this is probably the best tee shirt I have seen in ages – and talk about soft! This time I rolled the cuff on the Paige skinny jean and really like it. These jeans are also pretty high waisted. I wear my normal size 27 ($109.90) These black Blondo booties (size 9.5 $99.90) are a bit of a modern stretch for me but obviously this cut out style is very popular. They also come in leopard and a chestnut suede and are waterproof!! Here again I am wearing my new leopard belt!! Love this look.
NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
I feel like I have birthed another baby today!! Seriously this has been such a challenge for my feeble brain and limited skillset!! I was hoping to get my blog up in time for you to shop first thing today but I had to work on a video (my real job) all day yesterday!! I will be posting some more of my favorites from the sale this week and throughout the sale and try not to overwhelm you (or me). I do think shopping a sale with a purpose and a budget is the best idea and keeps you from feeling panicked or over spending. The best thing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is that you can stock up on essentials like lingerie and beauty and also get ahead of the game when shopping for fall. All of these items will go back to full price at the end of this sale (August 4) Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I would love to hear from you and also let me know if you find some fabulous finds that I have missed. Thank you for reading, happy shopping and hope you have a great weekend. XO Debby
Many thanks to Rachel Hepp, stylist, and Vanessa Fernandez, GM Nordstrom NP, for making this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale experience fabulous.
