Leopard Dresses for Fall
Happy Saturday and hope you are enjoying this sudden burst of fall weather. Bill and I are in Arkansas visiting our newest grand baby, William Henry Allbright!! He is our 4th grand child and the 5th William in a row in Bill’s family. We were here two weeks ago for Will’s birth and it is so much fun to see Will healthy and Sara and Tyler are the calmest parents. We woke up this morning to 39 degrees. I feel like someone flipped a switch and it became fall over night. You know that I am always behind on my blogs and say I am not making excuses any more. However this has been a crazy month since Bill had pretty dramatic foot surgery September 5 and I have been a little distracted trying to keep him safe on his scooter!!! Haha!! I started this series of blogs on fall dresses because it was still so hot in Texas but we all wanted to look like fall. Dresses are such a great solution to easy dressing. I am so in love with this Veronica Beard leopard print maxi dress. I found it at Tootsies and of course it is almost sold out. I have linked it at Veronica Beard and Shopbop where there is still some stock available. Since this dress is pretty pricey I have also linked several more affordable versions of Leopard Dresses for Fall.
LEOPARD DRESSES FOR FALL
This Veronica Beard leopard maxi dress covers several fashion trends. First of all you will see lots of maxi dresses for events casual or dressy. Second the sheer detail is quite popular and the best part is that this dress is sheer and comes with at matching slip. The high neck with a bow tie is very “Little House on the Prairie” and you will see lots of that feeling coming into fashion styles. If you look closely you will see that there is a ruffle at the neck and some beautiful stitching detailing. When I was in NYC just before Labor Day I noticed this mutton sleeve detailing subtly similar to what you are seeing in this dress. It has a beautiful sheer sleeve with a puff at the shoulder and a long elastic cuff that is so retro and feminine. The tiered skirt is reminiscent of the prairie skirt but much more sophisticated. You could also add a belt at the waist.
My favorite stylist, Betsy Gallagher, at Tootsies Dallas helped me pull some beautiful accessories to go with this Veronica Beard leopard maxi dress. I always love mixing tortoise with leopard for some reason. I think it is the combination of rich tones of brown that are so perfect for fall. I have mentioned that the clear trend (here and here) is relevant for all seasons and I thought this Cult Gaia Geneva clear mini tote with the tortoise handle was fabulous. Of course unless you want to look really messy and show all of your stuff you need a pretty bag inside the clear tote. Some bags come with an insert but since this one didn’t I found this Edie Parker tortoise clutch for the inside. If you want a less pricey version I found an option from Tuckernuck ($98). I am obsessed with these tortoise flower earrings from Lele Sadoughi. Her creations are on trend and very well priced! ($168) I think these earrings are timeless and you could wear them for years and years. Of course I gravitate to the Gucci tortoise large sunnies. On my wish list for sure. Very Jacki O inspired!!
ACCESSORIES STEAL THE SHOW
Not long ago I would have said you just need a touch of leopard or snakeskin or any accent. As in you wear a leopard shoe or belt for a touch of pattern. I would have said never wear denim with denim. Well it seems that all rules are out the fashion window these days. You can wear leopard or snakeskin or denim head to toe if you want. You can see that I am wearing a leopard mule with this leopard dress. Actually I found these amazing leopard mules (similar) on the sale rack at DSW. What a steal and the tones are perfect with this dress.

It feels really good to finally complete a project like writing a blog for a change. I have lots to say about fashion this fall so stay tuned. I guess I have realized that my family comes first so sometimes work gets put on the back burner. I have also been really busy helping my wonderful clients get their closets and wardrobes ready for this new season. It seemed like fall weather would never arrive but here it is, overnight!! Thank you for reading and I hope you know how much I appreciate you for taking time to follow Fashionomics. One of my mottos is that Fashion is Meant to be Fun!! So keep that in mind as you get your closet ready for fall. Let me know if I can answer any questions or help you in any way. XO Debby
