Happy Friday and Happy Labor Day Weekend. It is always hard to say good by to summer, I will miss the feeling that I can relax a little more. So since fall is supposedly just around the corner I have a fabulous leopard dress from Nanette Lepore to share with you. You know I love shopping at Neiman Marcus. That was always such a treat when I was younger if my mother took me to shop at Neiman Marcus NorthPark. That’s also where I started my modeling career (passing out samples Downtown NM in cosmetics) and I have had a love affair with this store ever since. Believe me my Neiman’s bill shows it. Yikes!! I know it is better if I show more moderately priced items but every once in a while I have to splurge. I will say that usually and investment in a designer piece means it will last longer and not go out of style quickly. You can get $100 off $400 purchase with code NM100.
I wanted to style this dress a couple of different ways to show you how to wear it now and then transition it into the fall season. This dress covers so many of the trends for Fall 2018 like leopard print, blush pink tones, and the asymmetrical hemline. It caught my eye and I just thought it looks like fall but I wouldn’t die of a heat stroke. It is feminine and floaty and really a dreamy and very flattering dress. I chose a nude sandal (which works all year round), a vintage snake clutch with gold hoops from Claudia Lobao Jewelry. I just love this designer from San Antonio and you can usually find her creations at Tootsie’s. Bloggers always wear sunnies and these are from Dear Hannah. I love giving a shout out to local stores and designers. I usually style my shoots from my own closet so sometimes I cannot give you a link to the exact accessory I am wearing but I try to find very similar items at different price points to link for shopping. I have to give you a tip, sometimes when I link to Nordstrom the color of the specific item does not show up when you click the link, so you will have to choose the color that I have shown in Shop the Post and described for you. (so frustrating). Remember at Neiman’s You can get $100 off $400 purchase with code NM100.
Now you can see the blush pink (huge trend) lining in this pretty leopard dress. I loved mixing it with a blush jacket (this one is from JD Williams and no longer available) and since my purse was stolen this summer I only use a cross body bag. This saddle bag in blush pink (see a color pattern) is such a great size and it is really cool to be hands free!! These sunnies with the gold trim are actually from Talulah & Hess which is the most fabulous shop in Lakewood. I like these pink sunglasses too. I don’t even remember where I got these earrings but Kendra Scott has some that are pretty close. Adding a darker suede sandal brings you into fall. I hope you can see lots of possibilities and outfits you could make from this one dress. I think being able to style a piece in several different ways gives you a lot of bang for your buck. This dress could definitely take you through almost all of the seasons. I have also shared my very favorite lip color Coachella Coral from Charlotte Tilbury. Love!
Thank you for taking time to read as you head into this Labor Day weekend. I am sending prayers to all of you for a happy and fun long weekend and safe travels wherever you go. Can you believe that next week will be September already?? I feel like I was just planning our family vacation and it has come and gone way too quickly. Let me know if you have any fashion trends you want me to cover or if you ever have questions or comments I would love to hear from you!!! XO Debby

PS – I want to say a special thank you to my sweet photographer Danielle who is such a professional that she kept our shoot date even though her precious grandfather was declining rapidly. She spends a lot of time caring for him and he was diagnosed with cancer recently. I think she did an amazing job and I know her heart was not in it. I am so lucky to have Danielle on my team!!
