Happy Sunday and hope you are enjoying your summer. Yesterday was Hunter’s 2nd birthday and I have been moping around because I didn’t go to Memphis. There has been so much going on this month that it wasn’t until yesterday that I realized I could have gone. Bill had a possible pending surgery which has been delayed, the kids were going to the beach which got canceled and I didn’t think I could go. I just hate missing out on some calm family time with my Memphis crew. Does anyone else live with regret? Next year I am sticking to my plan!! I am sure you have been seeing all of the posts about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that started July 12 and goes till August 4. This is the first time I have really tried to participate and it is somewhat overwhelming. I will keep at it but decided I wanted to do one of my normal posts today on How to Wear a Denim Skirt over 50. I really never think about my age when shopping, I just look for things I like and work for me. I certainly don’t want to dress like one of my girls but don’t think of myself as old. Anyone else still feel that way?? I guess I am old but don’t want to admit it!! Haha
HOW TO WEAR A JEAN SKIRT OVER 50
I found this cute jean skirt at Banana Republic (almost sold out) and loved it because it was longer to the knee. I probably won’t be wearing a mini jean skirt anymore. I found some others that are cute styles and longer but not old lady looking. I think a denim skirt is a great staple to have in your wardrobe and can be worn year round, especially in the South where some years we hardly have winter. Love this pleated skirt from J.Crew. This is not really a denim skirt but it serves the same purpose and sure is cute (comes in 4 colors) from J.McLaughlin. I thought it was fun styling it with this super fun white jean jacket from Ann Taylor with the tie on the sleeve. Anthropology has some great styles like this midi wrap denim skirt. Love the white option too. I have searched to find a bow blouse like the one I am wear from Koch. I wear is all the time but this is a really great blouse for denim. I think I need it.
Thank you so much for reading and I love your comments. Just realized I forgot to mention that it’s ok to mix your denim pieces. I will be sharing some more of my faves from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale over the next couple of weeks. Stay cool and enjoy your summer. I am late and off to church!! XO Debby
