Obviously I like black and white check whether small like gingham as in my recent post here, or a larger black and white check like this post and now another one. Do you like it too? Just wondering if it’s just me? I have to tell you that this day we were shooting it was soooo hot and very very humid. Thankfully I was the first shot of the morning at 9:30. My poor precious photographer Mary Hafner was 8 months pregnant and I do not know how she tolerated the heat. I can’t wait to meet her baby Eleanor coming first of July. I am hoping that Eleanor and Sloan will be great friends. You or someone you know might want some inspiration for a nursery so you can take a look at Mary’s blog post here. She has such great taste and I am so sad that she has retired from shooting bloggers to be a mom. I cannot blame her. She works so hard and is such a great photographer and I am really picky after so many years of modeling. I am just warning you that by the time I shot this dress I had wilted and my hair gets more and more frizzy in the heat and humidity. Yuk!!! Why did I even bother to fry it with the flat iron??!!
I thought this was a great little dress for summer. I don’t think this fabric will wrinkle and I like the black and white check (of course). I have mentioned before that I think off the shoulder tops and dresses are very flattering. This one shows a little skin and also covers the tops of you arms. This is always a huge request when dressing my clients, they always want sleeves. So here you go, cool for summer and covers the upper arm. I decided to add a pop of color with pink shoe from my closet because I knew that Ann Taylor has a cute version and pink earrings too. I could have worn white or black but pink seemed like more fun. I was on a yellow kick when I wrote about the gingham skirt recently so any bright color would be fun!!
I felt kind of bad this morning because Bill has been out of town and I am so happy that he got to get away to Colorado with a friend. He works so hard and has so much responsibility for family and clients that I just want him to keep his sanity and stay healthy. But I think I am burned out. Is anyone else feeling that way!!! I just need a little break from routine and I want to sit down and watch the ocean or something and not have to think or go to the grocery store, etc!!! We do have some fun family trips planned this summer and I am looking forward to a girls trip in September and maybe October but that’s not now!!! I’ll let you know if we come up with a last minute getaway. I really didn’t want Bill to feel sorry for me. I should have talked to my girlfriends instead of burdening him. Men always think they need to fix things. Too much pressure. Hope you survive the heat and have some fun plans in the future. Take good care of YOU!!! XO Debby
