Blue Coats and Jumpsuits

Blue Coats and Jumpsuits on over 50 blogger

I always like to look up the Pantone Color of the Year. It is interesting to me that there is a committee somewhere out there deciding the top color for fashion and decorating and I’m not sure what else. So Blue – Pantone Color of the Year is what we will be seeing in 2020. Actually it is Classic Blue but I am thinking all shades of blue will work for my blog purposes. Just FYI last year the color was Living Coral.  I am thinking that you will be seeing jumpsuits for quite a while on the fashion scene. They are easy to wear and give you a longer polished look. I did have a little trouble finding some ladylike spring coats like the one I am wearing. Actually the best looking ones I found were designer and very pricey and I was specifically looking for blue for this blog. I wanted to write about Blue Coats and Jumpsuits just for fun. I think blue is a happy color and great all year round. Having a spring coat has always been an Easter tradition for church because  that time of year can be quite chilly. Previous Fashionomics blogs on jumpsuits here and here.

Tonal dressing is always a great choice. I loved mixing tones of blue in this outfit. I think it makes you appear longer and taller and is a polished sophisticated look. You know I am a huge fan of patterns but I think the simplicity of this combination of solid shades of blue is very tranquil and calming. Having a versatile coat is a great way to transition from season to season. Spring seems to be particularly tricky because it may be sunny but the temps can be a bit chilly and you always need that jacket or coat just in case. You could wear these blues all year round.

Jumpsuits are very flattering from Fashionomics

Spring trends in the color blue

Of course this is one of those outfits that I found at the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale last summer. I actually saw it in their fashion show and thought it was so chic. As I have mentioned before the things included in the sale seem to sell out so fast. I was never able to post this until now but have found some similar jumpsuits and coats. Love this Tory Burch Robinson convertible shoulder bag which is still available. One of the best investments I made last year was the Schutz Ariella sandal that I am wearing. It is nude with clear straps and I have worn it with everything from dresses to jeans. It also comes in black, do I need that to? This is a pretty coat in sapphire blue but the photo I will link might not show the correct color. (just FYI) This coat comes in navy or a lovely oxford blue.

This is one of my favorite outfits and I apologize that I cannot always link the exact items that I feature in my blogs. This is a tricky business and popular items sell out fast like this blue coat. It was nowhere to be found. Now if you happened to snag this coat early you would be happy that not many people would be wearing it. I wanted to also tell you that I started a new thing yesterday called “Try On Tuesdays”. I will be going to stores and trying on spring trends and sharing them with you on my Instagram Stories on Tuesdays. If you are interested in any of the items they will be linked on my page on the app. You can find me at . I am not the best at shooting selfies or videos. Also lighting in the stores is usually terrible; which would seem counterproductive if they want you to feel like you look great in their clothes. I have never figured that out. Good lighting is everything. I hope you have a terrific first week of March. My newest grand baby was due March 3 but decided to come almost 2 weeks early on 2-20-20. Creighton Lyles Sheehan My kids are coming in from Memphis and Austin to meet him Thursday so it will be a busy weekend of family fun and chaos. We now have 5 grand babies under 2 1/2. Woohoo. Love every minute of the craziness. XO Debby
